So new to the area I joined a meetup group called Phoenix Wingmen on meetup.com. It's a cool group with a combination of AFCs, naturals, girls that think that they're wingwomen, and a few guys with game. We started out at Kazimeriz Wine bar. It was an older crowd with lots of couples all around. I got there and met the people in the group first. I was a little late so some of the guys had already started opening sets and after 10 mins, a 3 set of 5-7's came over to our little group and we started bantering/flirting. Anyways not much else was happening and the only available sets there were couples and I 1. Don't yet have the balls to approach a couple and try to steal the girl, 2. Don't feel I'm skilled enough to pull it off, 3. I would feel like a douche doing that.
So we ended up going out to Saddle Ranch which was definitely more of my scene. My buddy and I saw a 4 set full of HB 7-8's and we approached. He opened with a classic opinion opener, who lies more men or women. The girl that I was nearest to immediately said to me, sounds like that one pickup artist show on VH1. I then started making fun of her for watching trashy reality shows, pretending I had never seen The Pickup Artist. I focused on this girl while my bud got the other 3 girl's opinions. They were'nt interested but I somehow hooked her for a while. I made fun of her VH1 shows like I said before, we then started talking about boring stuff like work, school . I hate how my backup material is shitty interview type questions. She then mentioned her BF and I ejected. Next set I opened was a 2 set of HB 6s watching the mechanical bull. I said "Be honest, How many times have you ridden the bull?" We then made fun of the girl riding the bull who actually was quite talented pulling off a reverse cowgirl midride! We talked for a while but I wasn't too interested. As I walked away I saw the girl that pulled off the reverse cowgirl and commented on how talented she was. She was a 6 but the way she rode that bull made her a 7 for sure. Talked to her for a couple minutes and got out.
And now to the main part. As I walked away from the reverse cowgirl I saw a solid HB9, young, thin and sooo hot. I used the same bullriding opener, she laughed and said she's ridin it 5 times. At this point her friend pulled her away and I told her I'd talk to her later. Went over and talked to a blond that a goofy guy in the meetup group was trying to talk but was pretty much just creeping her out. I made fun of her big ass ring that looked like a chick and then saw my HB 9 standing alone. I approached her again and asked her how my little bull rider was doing. She laughed and we started jiving. I could tell she was into me after 10 minutes of talking. Her girlfriend was there and was pissed off at her boy so I started talking to her trying to get on her friends good side. Then her boy came over and so I talked to him for a bit. Meanwhile my HB9 was getting bored and went to the bar to get a drink. I stayed and talked to the HB9 friend and this guy she was with while this guy at the bar hit on my HB9. Anyways with the help of her friend I get the HB 9 back over, number close and try to keep going but this guy comes over and starts talking to us as well. At this point I think she was interested in both of us but after a while I was getting sick of giving this girl all this attention. At one point she had 3 guys around her and I just felt like a chump. I tried playing it cool, excusing myself and giving someone a call, but when I came back guess who was making out in a corner, yea the HB9. Well I left after that, ego blown (I know I take these things way too personal sometimes). I texted her last night with the classic "Hey I met a girl that I swear could be your twin". I got a good response and we texted back and forth a few times but when I asked her what she was doing tonight, no response. So that's it. I need some critique. What do you do in that situation? At what point did I likely make the wrong turn?
And the day after met up with some guys on this forum. We went to a pool party but my ego was still healing so I was seriously off my game and have no good reports from that.
