don't get caught up on "so and so is a dlv" and "this is always a dhv" - so many things can go either way depending on your congruence. I feel that using your hands when talking makes things more interesting as long as you do it well. Politicians are trained to do it. Read a body language book, and you can learn some little things that you can use to show dominance and openness. For example, showing your palms tends to build rapport and show you are honest and not a threat (in a good way). It's easier to kino if you 'talk with your hands' a bit, too. Make points while using hand gestures, and transition into touching their upper arm to emphasize a particular point. I feel like being a little animated and not being afraid to take up space is better than standing perfectly still with your hands at your side, particularly when doing indirect openers.
