I know that some people try to move away from NLP because it carries along a preconcieved notion of being a little hokie or manipulative. However, I think normal people use it unconsciously every day. I'm starting to read a few things about it now, and from what I understand, it helps build a strong emotional connection very fast.
This can be a bit dangerous, so I think it has to be used wisely. Use in comfort, rapport, building compliance, etc could help your game skyrocket. While building natural game and confidence are extremely important, use of NLP and SS couldn't hurt, only help your game, if used properly.
This is how I understand it when applied to pickup. You consciously attach emotions to your statements. Anyone else care to explain it further? I'm no expert in this.
